Dan is doing just fine.
Cindy took a bad fall! 14 stitches. No broken bones, however.
After the past two weeks trips to the Foundation Board Meeting and the MD 1 Forum and PDG Dinner it is apparent that our Organization still has work to do for our communities and for the Visual and Hearing Impaired.
Our Foundation is on a sound footing and will be able to perform any tasks assigned to it by the Lions of Illinois but it is clear we Lions will have to focus our energies to accomplish our stated Vision to create a permanent vehicle for the delivery of services to the visual and hearing impaired.
The task is simple but not necessarily easy. The financial commitment to run the programs taked to be run by our Foundation, by the Lions of Illinois, requires $100.00 -$150.00 per Lion each year which is a lofty challenge but one we Lions of MD 1 can achieve.
I want to thank each Lion in MD 1 for their commitment to date and for their continued commitment to those 'We Serve'.

Dan is doing just fine!
Heather and friends pitched in to care for him while we were in Bloomington for the Foundation Board Meeting.
While it is nice to see friends it is more important to take care of business! Our Foundation just received the results of their annual Audit and have come through with flying colors! Again we show that the Administrative costs come in at a fantastic 6%!
Important also is that we can show the Lions of Illinois that we know how to manage their hard earned dollars when they are entrusted to the Lions of Illinois Foundation! More important then that is that we can do more for those 'We Serve' when we run an efficient operation.
Important also is to get the message out to the Lions of Illinois that we need to step up our game and provide the funds necessary for the construction of a permanent vehicle to provide services to the Visual and Hearing impaired.
Let us go out today and begin to provide the foundation for those 'We Serve'.

Dan is doing just fine today.
I am getting ready to go down to the Lions of Illinois Foundation Board meeting. Hoping that all the recycled glasses I have received from the clubs will fit in the Prius and still allow us room for our luggage and Cindy!
More than 5,500,000 pairs of used plastic framed eyeglasses have been sent around the world from the LIF since 1994. That is a record to be proud of and one hopefully we can exceed now and in the future.
Let us go out today and see what we can recycle for those "We Serve'. today.

Dan is happy today.
Our country is in the process of facing the challenges of a new emerging global economic landscape. The process may not look pretty but is a necessary path to reestablish our countries economic viability. As Lions we need to understand the changing landscape facing those 'We Serve'. We as Lions are perfectly situated to have a positive impact on their lives.
All great religious traditions call on each of us to serve those less fortunate then ourselves and if you pay attention to the news that group is...

Dan is good today.
Contemplate on what is important, in our lives, and focus our efforts to making that our reality. It is when we do something for someone else that we can actually receive something positive in our own lives.

Dan is doing very well today.
It is good to renew and visit family from time to time. Unfortunately sometimes it is only at weddings and funerals. However these events put what is important into perspective; family.
Go out and do something for the Lions family of those 'We Serve' today.

Let us not forget that Lions include those "We Serve' as part of our family. We are approaching that time of year where families get together and give thanks for our blessings we have received during the year. Let us renew our commitment during this season for thanksgiving to those 'We Serve'.

Good Morning District 1-F1!
Dan is doing very well today.
We are approaching Halloween which is the eve of all Saints. Ask yourself the question do we just dress up as Lions and wear it as a costume or is Lionism part of our Soul? If you enjoy your efforts to give back to your community and to help the Visual and Hearing Impaired you have your answer. Lions do what we enjoy and that is giving.
Give all you have today for those 'We Serve'.

Good Morning District 1-F!
Dan is doing just fine.
We need to be planning ahead to honor those who are true leaders in our club and those who contribute critical components to our fundraisers and service projects throughout the year.
What better way to demonstrate your clubs gratitude then to make them a Sustaining Supporter or Foundation Fellow. This will show them how much the club appreciates what they do and also furthers the cause of the Visual and Hearing Impaired.
How about considering making your club a 100% Sustaining Supporter Club?!
Do something for those 'We Serve' today; come to the Pig Pen Derby!
